SUBJECT:
A resolution authorizing a not-to-exceed agreement in the amount of $114,500 between Crawford, Murphy and Tilly, Inc. and the City of Aurora for Design Phase Engineering and Planning Special Services associated with two projects located at the Aurora Municipal Airport.

PURPOSE:
To obtain City Council approval to enter into a consultant agreement with Crawford, Murphy and Tilly, Inc. to provide Design Phase Engineering and Planning Special Services.

BACKGROUND:
The City of Aurora has been awarded funding for two projects located at the Aurora Municipal Airport. The first is the Rehabilitate Airfield Lighting Vault project in which the total cost for this project is $785,000. The City's Local Share is $39,250. The second project is related to the first project in that it is the replacement of the existing standby generator which provides electrical power to the airfield lighting system in case of a network utility outage. The replacement generator total project cost is $515,000. As a result of the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) funding, the City of Aurora's share for this project is $25,750. Both project cost breakdowns are included in the attachments.

DISCUSSION:
As indicated above, the City of Aurora's total share for both of these projects is limited to $65,000. Therefore $49,500 of the total design phase engineering fee will be reimbursed back to the City of Aurora at the completion of these projects. The total cost for both projects has been set aside under CIPs D052 and D057 in accounts 504-4454-433.73-99 and 504-4454-433.63-34 respectively.

IMPACT STATEMENT:
This project (s) will have no adverse impact to the City of Aurora and will reduce the ongoing cost of maintaining the airport infrastructure.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
We respectfully request that you forward this agreement to the Building, Zoning and Economic Development Committ...
