A resolution appointing Lisa McClellan to "Sustainable Aurora" (the Mayor's Sustainable Aurora Advisory Board).
DISCUSSION:
In 2014, "Sustainable Aurora" (The Mayor's Sustainable Aurora Advisory Board) was formed to act as any advisory body to the Mayor and City Council. The seven (7) member board advises the Mayor and City Council on the development or initiation of programs or actions that will enhance, develop and create sustainable practices within the City of Aurora.
There is currently one vacancy on the board. Lisa McClellan is a resident of the eighth ward and if approved this board will be full.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the City Council approve the appointment of Lisa McClellan to "Sustainable Aurora" (The Mayor's Sustainable Aurora Advisory Board).

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, a vacancy exists on "Sustainable Aurora" (the Mayor's Sustainable Aurora Advisory Board); and
WHEREAS, it is the Mayor's desire that Lisa McClellan be appointed to said board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Aurora, Illinois, hereby approve the appointment of Lisa McClellan, Ward 8 of Aurora, IL, to "Sustainable Aurora" (The Mayor's Sustainable Aurora Advisory Board).
