SUBJECT:
Resolution Establishing the Maximum Number of City of Aurora Liquor Licenses by Class.

PURPOSE:
To establish the number of Class E, Full Menu Restaurant licenses at 54.

BACKGROUND:
This request is presented in accordance with the 2011 amendment to the City's Liquor Ordinance, specifically Section 6-9(a), which charges the City Council with the authority to determine the number of licenses available in each classification.

DISCUSSION:
Los Pancho's Restaurant, Inc., d/b/a Los Pancho's Restaurant, is purchasing the current and long-standing business, Pancho's Family Restaurant at 700 E. New York Street, Ste. 180, Aurora 60505. Los Pancho's Restaurant, Inc. has submitted a liquor license application for a Class E license for the purpose of selling to the general public alcoholic liquor by the drink for consumption on the premises only. The existing business, Pancho's Family Restaurant has maintained a Class E liquor license for many years.

Attached is the application submitted for your consideration. If approved, this resolution would maintain the number of allowable liquor licenses as indicated in the accompanying Exhibit A to allow for the issuance of the license by the Commissioner. City staff has been working with the business owners to ensure that all requirements for a liquor license, as set forth in Chapter 6 of the City's Code of Ordinances, are met.

IMPACT STATEMENT:
The proposed resolution presents an opportunity to further the City of Aurora's economic development.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
I am recommending that this resolution be considered by the City Council at its meeting to be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2020.
