A Resolution reappointing Meloyne Wimbley, Joseph Grisson III and Francis "Frank" Johnson to the Aurora Housing Authority Board.
DISCUSSION:
The Aurora Housing Authority Board is a seven (7) member board tasked with providing oversight to the Aurora Housing Authority. Commissioners are recommended by the Mayor and approved by the Aurora City Council. The board currently has a few expired terms.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council approve the recommended reappointments to the Aurora Housing Authority Board.

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, the Aurora Housing Authority Board has a few expired terms; and
WHEREAS, it is the Mayor's desire the recommended candidates be reappointed to said board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Aurora, Illinois, hereby approve the reappointment of Meloyne Wimbley, Ward 7, Aurora, IL, Joseph Grisson III, Ward 5, Aurora, IL and Francis "Frank" Johnson, Ward 5, Aurora, IL to the Aurora Housing Authority Board.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the term of Meloyne Wimbley shall expire on September 30, 2023 and the term of Joseph Grisson III and Francis "Frank" Johnson shall expire on September 30, 2024, however, in any event, they shall continue to serve unt...
