SUBJECT:
Resolution Establishing the Maximum Number of City of Aurora Liquor Licenses by Class.

PURPOSE:
To increase the number of Class F - Beer and Wine Restaurant license for the number of Class F licenses at 16.

BACKGROUND:
This request is presented in accordance with Section 6-9(a) and Section 6-13(s) of the City's Liquor Ordinance.

DISCUSSION:
Taqueria Aurora, 645 N. Elmwood Dr., Aurora, 60506 has submitted a liquor license application for a Class F license for the purpose of selling to the general public beer and wine by the drink for consumption on the premises only.

Attached are several items for your review. The first three exhibits are ones typically attached for the Council's review, the other four (4) are in accordance of the requirements set forth in 6-13(d). The attachments are as follows:
* Exhibit A - Number of Licenses by Class
* Exhibit B - Application
* Exhibit C - Floor Plan
* Exhibit D - Addendum to application responding to the requirements set forth in 6-13(d)
* Exhibit E - Aldermanic Recommendation
* Exhibit F - Liquor Control Hearing Officer Recommendation
* Exhibit G - Local Liquor Commissioners Recommendation

If approved, this resolution would increase the number of allowable liquor licenses as indicated in the accompanying Exhibit A to allow for the issuance of the licenses by the Commissioner. City staff has been working with the business representatives to ensure that all requirements for a liquor license, as set forth in Chapter 6 of the City's Code of Ordinances, are met.

IMPACT STATEMENT:
The proposed resolution presents an opportunity to further the City of Aurora's economic development.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
I am recommending that this resolution be referred to the November 5, 2019 meeting of the Committee of the Whole for consideration.
