ShebBix Inc. is requesting permission to stage the Advocate Health Care Fox Valley Marathon on Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 7:45 to 11:00 am.

PURPOSE:
To promote fitness in the Fox Valley area as well as promote the general area and its businesses.
BACKGROUND:
This event has been held for the past 8 years and last year 1,900 people participated. The route begins in St. Charles and continues south to Aurora and back to St. Charles along the west bank of the bike trail.
DISCUSSION:
The Fox Valley Marathon is once again expecting approximately 1,900 participants. Trail approval is contingent upon the sponsoring organization acquiring permits from all entities that have jurisdictions over portions of the route.
The organizers have provided a route map, COI as well as an Emergency Action Plan [EAP] covering any issues that may arise.
The route ends just north of the area blocked off for bridge construction near Lot W.
ShebBix, Inc. is responsible for all costs associated with this event.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
City services are requested from the Aurora Police Department Traffic Division for the crossing at Illinois Avenue only.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I request the proposed event be forwarded to the Government Operations Committee for review and approval.
