SUBJECT:
Requesting approval to purchase a replacement vehicle for unit 36-283 from Currie Motors - 9423 W. Lincoln Hwy., Frankfort, IL for $31,049.00.

PURPOSE:
To maintain the Police fleet.

BACKGROUND:
Unit 36-283 is a 2015 Ford Utility Police Interceptor that was involved in an accident. This vehicle was inspected by local auto body repair companies and the accident damage was determined to be a total loss.

DISCUSSION:
The "at fault driver" is insured with American Access Casualty Company however their policy has a $20,000.00 maximum payout.

The City's Property Claims Account 601-0000-410-4076 has available funds to cover the purchase of this vehicle.

Currie Motors is the approved dealer on the Suburban Purchasing Cooperative for the 2017 Ford Utility Police Interceptor.

IMPACT STATEMENT:
No impact to other departments.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
I recommend that the City Council approves a resolution to purchase a replacement 2017 Ford Utility Police Interceptor from Currie Motors - 9423 W. Lincoln Hwy., Frankfort, IL in the amount of $31,049.00.

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and

WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and

WHEREAS, Unit 36-283 is a 2015 Ford Utility...
