A Resolution authorizing the Director of Purchasing to execute an agreement with Crawford, Murphy and Tilly, Inc., 550 North Commons Drive, Suite 116, Aurora, Illinois 60504 for Resident Inspection and Engineering Services
PURPOSE:
To authorize the Director of Purchasing to execute an agreement with Crawford, Murphy and Tilly, Inc. for resident inspection and engineering services
BACKGROUND:
Crawford, Murphy and Tilly, Inc. has provided engineering and resident engineering inspection services for the City of Aurora for nearly 26 years. Their existing contract with the City expires at the end of 2016.
DISCUSSION:
The agreement provides for the inspection of public improvements constructed as part of new developments and also provides for other engineering services that may be required from time to time.
A review of Crawford, Murphy and Tilly's billing rates revealed that their proposal is very competitive with other local engineering consultants.
Funds used for these services are derived from fees charged to the development community based on the construction of public infrastructure.
The City's annual budget provides funds for these services in account 101-4040-431.32-09.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
The approval of this agreement should have no adverse impact as it is a renewal of an existing contract,
