PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for E. Downer Place in the 300 block to investigate installing parking restrictions.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted ACR Case ID 147392 expressing concern of vehicles parking too close to existing drive approaches.
DISCUSSION:
E. Downer Place in the 300 block is a Minor Collector about 31-ft. wide. Two-lane traffic is limited One-Way towards the West. Parking is not allowed on the south side of the roadway.
Inspecting the north side of E. Downer Place, some vehicles were found parking within the restricted 5-ft. of business drive approaches. Yellow Curb that marked this 5-ft. restriction could clear the drive approaches.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations would be responsible for installing the Yellow Curb markings.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends installing Yellow Curb markings denoting the 5-ft No Parking zone for all drive approaches in the 300 block of E. Downer Place.
