body
PURPOSE:
A Traffic Study for Andover Drive in the 1400 block to determine traffic speeds and volumes.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted ACR Case ID 147522 expressing concern for traffic speed on Andover Drive. The residents also expressed concerns of Andover being utilized as a cut thru due to construction traffic.
DISCUSSION:
Andover Drive is a residential neighborhood roadway with a 25 mph speed limit. Both sides have curb, gutter and sidewalks. Road width is the standard 29.5-ft.
Traffic counters on Andover Drive revealed an ADT of 700 VPD. Speeds were found to be average 25 mph, with a 85th percentile of 31 mph and a median of 25 mph.
Based on Traffic Calming Policy, this segment of roadway does marginally qualify for traffic calming under the current policy. Traffic volume has remained relatively steady and no evidence of increased cut thru exist.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No impact at this time.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends acceptance of traffic study.
