Resolution Approving the Issuance of a Music Festival Permit for Our Lady of Good Counsel located at 620 S. Fifth Street, for Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
PURPOSE:
Our Lady of Good Counsel Church (OLGC), located at 620 South Fifth Street, has applied for a Music Festival Permit for their Unity of Community Festival on Sunday, September 25, 2016. As part of this event, Our Lady of Good Counsel Church would like to have live entertainment, which requires City Council approval prior to the issuance of a permit.
BACKGROUND:
This is the fifth year that Our Lady of Good Counsel has applied for and received a Music Festival Permit and to my knowledge there have been no police incidents reported.
DISCUSSION:
We will again be working with the Police Department and Fire Prevention to ensure that necessary staffing is covered and safety issues are addressed. Our office has received the application fee, necessary insurance documentation and event layout, which is attached.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
None.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is my recommendation that this item be referred to the Government Operations Committee for their next meeting on August 23, 2016. This will ensure review and passage by the City Council prior to the event.
