SUBJECT:
Resolution to appropriate and approve funds for Kautz Road Multi-Use Path project and execute Local Agency Agreement. The project limits falls under Ward 8.

PURPOSE:
To set aside funds for Kautz Road Multi-Use Path Project, approval of the funds thus appropriated and execution of Local Agency Agreement.

BACKGROUND:
In an effort to improve the pedestrian and bicyclist's environment for the residents, work groups, commuters and visitors, the City has been continually improving its bicycle facilities. The total cost of the project is estimated to be $ 548,400 with the City's 20% portion estimated to be around $109,680.

The proposed Kautz path will provide connections to the existing bike paths at both its north and south ends. The path is proposed to run east through the Fox Valley Park District (FVPD) to connect to the existing path that connects to the bridge to get to Steck Elementary School and adjacent park. The path will also make connections to the adjacent Oakhurst Forest Preserve unpaved trails on to its west side thus forming a system of e...
