Communities in Schools 2nd 2 None 5K at Chicago Premium Outlets Parking Lot on Sunday July 17, 2016 from 8:00am to 10:30am.

PURPOSE:
Communities in Schools is requesting permission to hold their annual 2nd 2 None 5K to raise funds for the Summer Food for Thought Program.
BACKGROUND:
CIS has held their annual 5K at various places in the past such as Phillips Park and in downtown Aurora, and at Rivers Edge Park, and have partnered with the Aurora Interfaith Food Pantry. Due to not holding it in April and scheduled construction in downtown Aurora, they are planning on holding this year at the Chicago Premium Outlets Mall.
DISCUSSION:
CIS has been working with management of the mall to plan the event and have been approved by Chicago Premium Outlets to hold the event in the parking lot. CIS is expecting 325 people to participate and 30 staff/volunteers to help. CIS is responsible for all costs associated with hosting this proposed event.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Barricades are being requested from the Street Maintenance Division to block parking lot access along the 5K route.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Please forward to the Government Operations Committee for approval.
