SUBJECT:
A Resolution to Accept the Parts and Material Quotations for the Water and Sewer Maintenance Division

PURPOSE:
The water and sewer division is responsible for all repairs, maintenance and limited replacement of existing water and sewer mains. Likewise we are also responsible for the appurtenances to the those mains.

BACKGROUND:
Price quotes are solicited on an annual basis for the supplies utilized for the daily maintenance of the infrastructure. This year we received quotes from six suppliers for 136 items. .

DISCUSSION:
Supplies that are in stock are purchased from the lowest responsible bidder. Funds have been allocated in the Water and Sewer Fund, account number 510-4063-511.65-60 of the 2015 Water and Sewer Maintenance budget.

IMPACT STATEMENT:
The purchased materials are essential to the daily operations of the division and they allow us to maintain the high level of service the citizen have become accustomed to

RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is my recommendation that the material quotations be forwarded to the Finance committee for the meeting on February 10, 2015.

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
