L.I.F.T. Aurora is requesting approval to stage On the Wall Urban Arts Festival on Water Street Mall, Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

PURPOSE:
Established in 2014, On the Wall Urban Arts Festival is a cultural event that showcases the positive aspects of Hip-Hop culture by highlighting the music's legacy as an agent of artistic progression, community building and social change.
BACKGROUND:
L.I.F.T. Aurora is a local not for profit that provides a place for all members of the community Live, Improve, Flourish and Thrive. This is the fifth year for this event which is expected to draw 200-250 people. There is no history of any issues associated with this event. .
DISCUSSION:
Activities will DJ's, rappers, poets and singers. A COI is forthcoming.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
There are no additional City Services associated with this event. Organizers are responsible for clean-up of WSM after the event.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I request the proposed event be forwarded to the Government Operations Committee for review and approval.
