SUBJECT:
A Resolution authorizing the Director of Purchasing to renew Genetec Software Subscription Agreement for one year.
PURPOSE:
This resolution is requesting to renew the Genetec Software Subscription Agreement (SSA) for one year.
BACKGROUND:
These Genetec SSA licenses allow for video to be managed for all City-owned Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) devices.
DISCUSSION:
After a competitive bidding process, Scientel Solutions, LLC., ("Scientel") was awarded a three-year contract with a three-year option to manage and upgrade all City-owned CCTV cameras via Council resolution R21-135.
As part of resolution R21-135, Scientel has configured and helped administer the City's Genetec Security Center platform and Genetec Software Subscription Agreement that integrates CCTV devices and access control devices into one simplified platform. Genetec does not sell directly and requires licenses to be purchased through a reseller.
The cost of the Genetec SSA for 2025-2026 was $63,435.33. The cost of the SSA for 2026-2027 is $76,751.27. The increase in the cost was primarily due to the increase in CCTV devices for River Edge Park, Public Works and Fire Station 13. A summary of changes is attached to this resolution.
City IT staff is recommending a one-year SSA renewal as it allows the City to closely align with the end of the managed service agreement from R21-135 and provides flexibility for licensing in 2027.
Funds are available in account 101-1280-419.38-26 for this purchase.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
The Genetec Software Subscription Agreement must be in place for all CCTV devices in order to enable video management.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Request the proposed resolution be adopted.
