Requesting permission for Alpha Media LLC to stage the second annual Cock-A-Doodle Brew Festival on Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm at 201 N. River Street.

PURPOSE:
The purpose of the event is to raise awareness for the radio stations, promote downtown Aurora and as a fundraiser for the Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry.
BACKGROUND:
This is the second year for this event which brought in 1,150 in 2015 and promoters are projecting 1,500 this year. Revenue is used to off-set the cost of the event and to benefit a local charity. Each year Alpha choses a community partner, this year it is the Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry.
DISCUSSION:
The event ran smoothly least year as a first time event. Organizers have hired two very popular bands this year for the entertainment, Hi Infidelity and 7th Heaven. Activities planned are beer sampling, food vendors and an artist village.
A Music Festival Permit has been applied for and insurance is pending approval.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
City services requested at this time are:
Use of lots A & W for attendee parking
Barricades dropped off to block off the casino and Y lots on Friday, October 7 and pick up on Monday, October 10.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I request the proposed event be forwarded to the Government Operations Committee for review and approval.
