A Parking Study for the Gabrielle Lane at Frontenac Street intersection. Ward 10, Alderman Johnson.
body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for the Gabrielle Lane at Frontenac Street intersection regarding Parking Here to Corner regulations.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted ACR Case ID 121834 requesting Parking Restrictions be enforced by signage and Yellow Curb regarding NO PARKING HERE TO CORNER.
DISCUSSION:
Both Gabrielle Lane and Frontenac Street are classified as minor collector roadways. Each has a roadway width of 36-ft; both have their centerlines marked by Yellow dash pavement markings. There are no visual obstructions on either the southwest corner or the southeast corner. This is a controlled intersection, with a STOP sign for northbound Frontenac Street which "Ts" into the east-west Gabrielle Lane. There is a southbound approach, but it is gated closed, running from the Post Office. Parking restrictions are not in place, either signage or Yellow Curb. Parking Restrictions for Gabrielle Lane may be installed with NO PARKING HERE TO CORNER.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations shall be responsible for parking signage installation.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends installing NO PARKING HERE TO CORNER signage on the south sides of Gabrielle Lane.
