SUBJECT:title
A Parking Study for the entire Echo Lane. Ward 10, Alderman Johnson.
body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for the entire Echo Lane to determine the warrants for restricting parking.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted ACR Case ID 144836 expressing concern for traffic parking and congestion on Echo Lane.
DISCUSSION:
Echo Lane is the standard 29.5-ft in width, allowing two-way traffic to pass with care when cars are parked on both sides. If one side of the roadway were to have NO PARKING, this would increase average speeds thru Echo Lane.
Parking is in high demand in this area and consequently on street parking is heavily utilized.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No impact at this time.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends denial; however, will reconsider if 80% of all units on Echo Lane support the parking restriction by way of petition. Alderman will be responsible for receipt and verification of petition.
