A Parking Study for Forest Avenue in the 300 block. Ward 1, Alderman Bohman.
body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for Forest Avenue in the 300 block to determine effective measures to restrict parking in the vicinity of a fire hydrant.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted ACR Case Id 124360 expressing concern regarding fire hydrants in the 300 block of Forest Avenue from being blocked by parked cars, especially the one at 302 Forest Avenue.
DISCUSSION:
The roadway is narrow, only 23-ft wide with NO PARKING THIS SIDE signage on the north side of the roadway. The Fire Hydrants are on the north side of Forest, the same side as the NO PARKING THIS SIDE signage.
Since the side of the roadway is already restricted on the side where the fire hydrants are located enforcement is recommended.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No impact.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends denial.
