A Resolution Reappointing Dan Miller to the Aurora Preservation Commission.
DISCUSSION:
The Aurora Preservation Commission is an eleven (11) member commission created in 1979 to support the preservation of Aurora's historical, cultural, artistic, social and ethnic heritage. Members are tasked with overseeing the city’s four (4) designated historic districts, the Tanner, Palace, Near Eastside and the Riddle Highlands.
Renewal of Dan's term will bring the Commission up to date.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the City Council approve the reappointment of Dan Miller to the Aurora Preservation Commission.

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, there are expired terms on the Commission; and
WHEREAS, it is the Mayor's desire that the recommended candidates be reappointed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Aurora, Illinois, hereby approve the reappointment of Dan Miller Aurora, IL of the sixth ward to the Aurora Preservation Commission.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the term of Dan Miller shall expire on March 31, 2024, however, in any event, he shall continue to serve until his respective replacement have been approved by the Council.
