A Parking Study for Cerena Court. Ward 10, Alderman Lofchie.
body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for Cerena Court to determine if a parking restriction is needed.
BACKGROUND:
Alderman Lofchie received resident complaint regarding vehicles parking adjacent to the cul-de-sac median circle, making maneuvering difficult for snow plow, emergency, garbage, delivery and resident vehicles, as well as retrieving mail. Resident is requesting NO PARKING signage.
DISCUSSION:
Cerena Court is classified as a residential roadway, 28 feet width in the cul-de-sac, with a 25 mph speed limit. Parked vehicles, adjacent to the cul-de-sac median island along with parked vehicles on the outer circle curb line, reduces the traveled way hindering emergency, snow plow, garbage, delivery and residential vehicle access. The median circle, 29 feet in diameter, contains mailboxes for cul-de-sac residents.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Street Department resources.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends installing NO PARKING signage for the cul-de-sac median circle.
