PURPOSE:

A Parking Study for Westbrook Drive, from Healthway Drive to Illinois Route 59. 

BACKGROUND:

Received email from Dr. Peter Lo Destro, complaining about truck parking in front of 4230 Westbrook Drive, making it difficult for vehicles to access the dental office.   

DISCUSSION:

Westbrook Drive is classified as an industrial/commercial roadway, 39 feet in width.  Dense truck parking along with tractor-less trailers have been field observed along Westbrook Drive, especially west of Trade Street. APD recently ticketed and towed trucks remaining on Westbrook Drive, for more than 48 hours. APD supports posting NO TRUCK PARKING and the City Legal Department is reviewing ordinances for possible modifications to help enforcement efforts.     

IMPACT STATEMENT:

Street Department & APD resources. 

RECOMMENDATIONS:

Staff recommends posting NO TRUCK PARKING THIS SIDE signage, for both sides of Westbrook Drive from Healthway Drive to Illinois Route 59, along with selective APD parking restriction enforcement.
