Still Middle School is requesting permission to conduct 1 mile and 5 mile races on the school's neighborhood streets, that does not require closing or barricading off any of the streets while the Still Shuffle is being held on Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 7:00am to 12:00pm

PURPOSE:
The Still Shuffle is being held as a fundraiser for a fitness center to promote lifelong fitness.
BACKGROUND:
This is the 4th year that the event is being proposed to be held with the same routes that has been utilized for the past 3 years. The organizers state that they expect approximately 500 participants in the races and have 150 volunteers on hand.
DISCUSSION:
The organizers are responsible for all costs associated with holding this event.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Although the organizers are not requesting street closures/barricading, Aurora Police Department Traffic Division services will be utilized to provide traffic control and safety where needed.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Please forward to the Government Operations Committee for review/approval.
