A Resolution to authorize the City of Aurora to enter into a new Commercial Lease Agreement with Peter Lo Destro, 17 B Ashe Road, Sugar Grove, IL, 60554, d/b/a Jumpin Java Coffee, for commercial space at the Aurora Transportation Center Located at 233 N Broadway, Aurora Illinois 60505 commonly known as "ATC".
PURPOSE:
Resolution authorizing the City of Aurora to enter into a new Commercial Lease Agreement with Jumpin Java for the use of a commercial space at the ATC Commuter Station. The term of the lease would be for one (1) year.
BACKGROUND:
The City originally entered into a lease agreement with Peter Lo Destro back in 2000 for vending space in the lobby of the ATC building. The most recent lease amendments were executed to allow extensions of the previous lease agreements.
DISCUSSION:
Approving a new commercial lease would allow Mr. Lo Destro to continue his operation of the vending machines he is running in the ATC. The new lease agreement would also continue the City's efforts to standardize our Commercial Leases. Rent for the lease agreement would be $200 per month. In addition, a security deposit of $200 will be paid at the execution of this new lease agreement.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
The approval of this commercial lease agreement would allow for Mr. Lo Destro to continue his operation in a space that would otherwise become vacant.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
To approve entering into a new Commercial Lease Agreement with Mr. Lo Destro for the use of the commercial space at the ATC.
