SUBJECT:
A resolution to authorize the Director of Purchasing to execute a contract with Group Management, Inc.,1833 Kenilworth Place, Aurora, IL 60506, in the amount of $29,100 for the DSC Building Engineering Division Workstations.

PURPOSE:
To accept the bid for the above referenced project.

BACKGROUND:
The City recently acquired the former PNC bank building at 77 S. Broadway in Aurora with the intention of housing several City Departments through a series of self-performed and contracted improvements and renovations. As part of the ongoing efforts, the City contracted with Batir Architects, Ltd. to draft renovation plans and specifications for the Engineering and Planning Divisions to be located on the 2nd floor.

As a part of the improvements to the DSC building, 20 cubicle workstations are required for the Engineering Division. Bids were solicited publicly, with a request for vendors to supply up to three bids. The options for the three bids were as follows: furnish and install new units, furnish and install used units, or install units provided by the City. Each bidder could supply prices for just one option, or all three, at their discretion.

It should be noted that firms furnishing used workstations generally provide units that are in "like new" condition; regardless of that fact, the bid documents included language that the City reserves the right to inspect and reject the units before delivery and installation.

DISCUSSION:
Bids for the DSC Building Engineering Division Workstations were received from three bidders. These bids were opened publicly and read aloud at 2:00 p.m. on August 1, 2018; a tabulation of those bids is included as Exhibit B. As can be seen on Exhibit B, two bidders provided bids to furnish and install used units, two bidders provided bids to furnish and install new units and one bidder provided a bid to install units furnished...
