PURPOSE:
The Aurora Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will be having their annual "Fiestas Patrias" event and are requesting a Carnival Permit for Saturday, September 14 from noon to 10:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 15, 2013 from noon to 10:00 p.m.

BACKGROUND:
This is an annual event held by the Aurora Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

DISCUSSION:
Our office will be working with the Police Department and Fire Prevention to ensure that necessary staffing is covered and safety issues are addressed. The Aurora Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has indicated they have hired three individuals through a private security company and will also be contacting the Aurora Police Department. Our office has received the Certificate of Insurance from Windy City Amusements, Inc., as well as the application signed by the sponsor. Representatives from both Windy City and the Aurora Hispanic Chamber are committed to presenting a completed application signed by both parties, a layout showing exact location, toilet facilities and off-street parking, and the applicable fee before the Government Operations Committee meeting on September 10, 2013. Windy City has indicated they will not be serving food at this event so there is no need for County Health Certificates. Windy City will be providing Amusement Ride Permit information.

IMPACT STATEMENT:
An application for Assembly Operational Permit has been applied for at the Aurora Fire Prevention Bureau. The Aurora Police Department will be contacted to determine if Police Officers need to be hired in addition to the private security that has been hired.
