body
PURPOSE:
Attached please find an Ordinance authorizing the execution of an agreement concerning the granting of a license for the use of city owned property at 329 Plum Street. The City owns a 1950 square foot vacant lot commonly known as 329 Plum Street. The City desires to license the use of the lot to the property owners to the east at 502 Palace. The City has chosen to license the property to allow the use of the property for parking and will donate the property to Elia Ghanem and Reem Ghanem ("Ghanems") upon their erecting a garage on the property.
BACKGROUND:
The Ghanems will have five years to erect the garage as they don't have the ability to finance the garage presently. Further Ghanems will be required to install a parking area on the property to park their vehicles before June 15, 2014.
DISCUSSION:
The City has made this type of arrangement before with adjacent owners in order to dispose of vacant City-owned lots
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No impact on other city divisions or departments.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Place on Finance Committee Calendar (10/22/13 Agenda) for approval to City Council.
