A Traffic Study for two alleys that meet in a "T" intersection in the rear of the 600 block of Jefferson Street. Ward 1; Alderman Bohman
body
PURPOSE:
To determine any necessary action for the "T" intersection of two alleys in the rear of the 600 block of Jefferson Street.
BACKGROUND:
A resident sent an ACR Case ID 91450 expressing concern regarding the intersection of two alleys that meet by the rear corner of 616 Jefferson Street.
DISCUSSION:
The through alley runs east-west from Jefferson Street to High Street. The north-south alley runs from south from Rural Street and ends at the east-west alley. The "T" intersection has limited line-of-site between the southbound alley and the alley running to the east. The east-west alley has NO PARKING THIS SIDE on the north side, while the north-south alley has NO PARKING THIS SIDE on the west side. Right of way is very limited the addition of any stop signs would make maintenance difficult. There is no indication of high speeds and observed very low volumes.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Based on Staff recommendations no impact.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends denial.
