PURPOSE:
To establish the 2014 dental rates for the City of Aurora's dental plan for participating employees and retirees.
BACKGROUND:
Each year the dental rates are adjusted based on the actual claims experience from the previous last full benefit year within each of the three tiers of coverage employee, employee+1 and family. The city participates in the Blue Cross Blue Shield optional dental discount network in order to offer reduced dental costs and increase plan savings when network dental services are utilized.
DISCUSSION:
Proposed dental rates required for 2014 compared to 2013 reflect a 1.2% increase in employee, employe+1 and family rates.
