Requesting Approval of two Professional Consulting Services Contracts with CB&I Environmental & Infrastructure, Inc. for Voluntary Site Remediation Program (SRP) Services for the RiverEdge Park Expansion Parcels at 310 and 330 N Broadway. (CB&I - 16-00267 / AU22/2-15.153-PZ/L - SP - Ward 2)
PURPOSE:
The attached professional services contracts with CB&I Environmental & Infrastructure, Inc. are for work associated with obtaining a NFR determination from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) on the RiverEdge Park Expansion Parcels. One contract is for 310 N Broadway and one contract is for 330 N Broadway.
BACKGROUND:
The City recently acquired the properties at 310 and 330 N Broadway and seeks to obtain a NFR determination from the IEPA as we have achieved with the rest of the Park. Commonwealth Edison will be completing remediation work and obtaining a NFR determination from the IEPA on a portion of the properties, and the proposed contracts are for the remaining balance of the parcels. The City will be seeking contribution from escrowed funds for said work associated with 330 N Broadway.
DISCUSSION:
Pursuant to a previous contract CB&I provided an Environmental Site Assessment and Phase II Environmental for the site. CB&I Environmental & Infrastructure, Inc. has provided proposals to perform professional consulting services associated with obtaining a NFR determination from the IEPA on the RiverEdge Park Expansion Parcels for a fee, including contingency, in the amount of fifty-two thousand five-hundred and fifty dollars ($52,550.00) for 310 N Broadway and fifty-three thousand seven-hundred and ninety dollars ($53,790.00) for 330 N Broadway. A budget amendment is being requested for Account Number 236-1830-465.32-18 (Environmental Study) to fund the work.
