SUBJECT:title
A Traffic Study on the 600 Block of Smith Blvd. Ward 3, Alderman Mesiacos
body
PURPOSE:
To study parking restrictions for students during school hours for the Western side of Smith Blvd.
BACKGROUND:
A resident submitted an ACR Case ID 88916 expressing desire to change the NO PARKING BETWEEN SIGNS signage to NO STUDENT PARKING DURING SCHOOL HOURS.
DISCUSSION:
A NO PARKING ban is already in effect at the above location. NO PARKING BETWEEN SIGNS is posted with the southern sign at Morningside and the northern sign at 611 Smith Blvd. Previously, a request was made to restrict parking on the West side of Smith Blvd running north from Morningside so that vehicles exiting Morningside onto Smith would have a clearer line of site for oncoming southbound vehicles. The signs were accordingly installed. But this new request, to install parking restriction signs which would only be in effect during school hours would conflict and cancel that newly extended line of site.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Recommend no action.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends no action.
