A Traffic Study for Daisy Street. Ward 1, Alderman Bohman.
body
PURPOSE:
A Traffic Study for Daisy Street to determine traffic volumes and speeds at various times of the day.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted PS # 2366649 expressing concern for weekday traffic speeds during morning rush (6:00-8:00am) and evening rush (3:30-5:30pm).
DISCUSSION:
Daisy Street is a residential neighborhood roadway with a standard speed limit of 25 mph. The roadway has two slight curves and is the standard 29.5-ft width. The roadway is one of four residential north-south roadways connecting Molitor Road and Felten Road. Both Molitor and Felten are classified as Major Collectors, including the stretch of Felten running through this East View Estates Subdivision.
Traffic counters on Daisy Street revealed a modest ADT of 400 veh/day. Speeds were found to average 26 mph, with a 85th percentile of 32 mph and a median of 26 mph. A special speed by time of day chart revealed that speeds tend to be higher during the morning rush.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No impact at this time.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends acceptance of Traffic Study (Daisy 04 2017.pdf).
