body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for West Park Avenue (Lake Street to River Street), to determine if NO PARKING signage should be placed along the south side of the Avenue.
BACKGROUND:
Have received complaints involving eastbound West Park Avenue vehicles having difficulty with parked vehicles along the south side of the Avenue between Lake Street and River Street. Eastbound vehicles have to maneuver into westbound lane to avoid parked vehicles.
DISCUSSION:
West Park Avenue is classified as a major collector between Lake Street and River Street. West Park Avenue is 30 feet in width, and NO PARKING signage on the north side of the Avenue and a steep grade downward from Lake Street to River Street. NO PARKING signage did exist several years ago on south side of the Avenue when the old Police Station was in operation.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Street Department resources.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends the installation of NO PARKING ANY TIME or THIS SIDE signage for the south side of West Park Avenue between Lake Street and River Street.
