SUBJECT:
A request to renew an intergovernmental agreement between the City of Aurora and the State of Illinois Department of Transportation for the Maintenance of Municipal Streets.

PURPOSE:
To renew a 10-Year intergovernmental agreement with IDOT for the maintenance of municipal streets

BACKGROUND:
The City of Aurora is reimbursed by the State of Illinois Department of Transportation for maintenance it performs on State-owned roadways.

DISCUSSION:
This agreement replaces the previous 10-year agreement with the State of Illinois Department of Transportation which expires June 30 of this year. The agreement allows for reimbursement to the City of Aurora for maintenance work performed on State designated routes. The amount is based on the number of lane-miles maintained and is adjusted annually based on a Construction Cost Index that is published by the Engineering News Record.

IMPACT STATEMENT:
This agreement should have no negative impact.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
The Engineering Division supports the terms of this agreement and respectfully requests the Finance Committee's favorable recommendation to the full City Council.
