A Parking Study for Packford Lane in the 2700 block. Ward 10, Alderman Johnson.
body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for Packford Lane in the 2700 block to determine possible parking restrictions near gang-mailboxes.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted ACR Case ID 117572 requesting a Parking Study to determine possible parking restrictions near gang-mailboxes. Location is the drive approach for units 2794 - 2798 Packford Lane, located on the western side of Packford Lane.
DISCUSSION:
Either side of the entrance to the general parking lot has gang-mailboxes consisting of eight boxes each. Both are next to the entrance, and largely within the 5-ft no parking limit for parking next to a drive approach. It should not be too difficult to stretch that 5-ft standard to about 15-ft to cover the mailboxes, should Staff wish to do so.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations would be responsible for installing the Yellow Curb markings.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends expanding the 5-ft Yellow Curb restriction for parking next to a driveway to about 15-ft to cover the mailboxes.
