Requesting approval for Light of the Heart to conduct the 4th annual Art Jam at the Phillips Park Pavilion on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm.

PURPOSE:
This is the fourth year for this fundraising event which is a celebration of the visual arts, art therapy and music.
BACKGROUND:
Light of the Heart is a registered not-for-profit organization. Funds generated from Art Jam assist the organization in accomplishing their program goals throughout the year.
DISCUSSION:
Proceeds from the event provide art therapy and counseling for at-risk youth in Aurora. This free event is rain or shine and expected to draw approximately 250 people.
There are no direct City costs associated with this event. Insurance is covered by the City of Aurora through the NFF program.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Organizers are requesting the use of Phillips Park Pavilion from 10:00 am through 6:00 pm to allow sufficient time for set-up and break-down of the event. They will once again work with Park staff on details.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I request the proposed event be forwarded to the Government Operations Committee for review and approval.
