A Resolution Approving a Phase 3 Engineering Contract with Thomas Engineering Group for the Highland and Sullivan Intersection Improvements

PURPOSE:
To Obtain Approval for a Resolution for a Phase 3 Engineering Contract with Thomas Engineering Group for the Highland and Sullivan Intersection Improvements.


BACKGROUND:
A Phase III or construction oversight consultant is required for the intersection improvements. The work on this intersection is scheduled to begin by the end of July.

DISCUSSION:
Thomas Engineering Group was selected to oversee the Phase III construction of the Highland and Sullivan Intersection Improvements. Funding is made available through the following account:

RECOMMENDATIONS:

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and

WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
