SUBJECT:
A Resolution Approving A Revision to the Final Plan for the Swami Temple Located at 1145 West Sullivan Road for Two Building Additions and a Patio (Swami Temple - 21-0109 / AU08/2-21.033-Fpn/R - SB - Ward 6)

PURPOSE:
The Petitioner, the Swami Temple, is requesting approval of a Final Plan Revision for the property located at 1145 West Sullivan Road, which will include building additions for worship and an enclosed stairwell, and a new patio and vehicle drop-off for visitors.

BACKGROUND:
The subject property is zoned R-1(S), One Family Dwelling District with a Special Use Planned Development. The subject property is the location of the Swami Temple, which was built in 1987. The subject property is approximately nineteen (19) acres. PDFNL02-039, which was approved on July 11, 2002, allowed for the construction of the building addition on the east side of the original building. R08-296, which was approved on June 24, 2008, allowed for the construction of an extensive landscaped berm on the subject property.

The Petitioner, the Swami Temple, is requesting approval of a Final Plan Revision for the subject property. Details of the request include the construction of an approximately six thousand, seven hundred (6,700) square foot building prayer hall addition on the east side of the existing building and an enclosed staircase on the north side of the building. This Final Plan Revision also includes the construction of a new patio to the east of the proposed addition, as well as a new drop-off lane for visitors.

DISCUSSION:
Staff has reviewed the Final Plan Revision petition and have sent comments back to the Petitioner on those submittals. The Petitioner has made the requested revisions to these documents and they now meet the applicable codes and ordinances.
