SUBJECT:
A resolution to accept a bid from Cardno, Inc., 6605 Steger Road, Unit A, Monee, IL 60449 for Native Plantings Landscaping Maintenance in the amount of $61,000.

PURPOSE:
To accept the bid for the above referenced project.

There are various native planting areas around the City which require routine controlled burns, mowing, herbicide application, and supplemental seeding outside of the scope of routine landscaping and existing contracts. In the past, these areas have either gone unmaintained or, in the case of several of the areas surrounding storm water lakes in this contract, have been maintained reactively or with local Ward funds.

In order to consolidate the required maintenance of native planting areas around the City (see attached Exhibit A for areas), unit prices, estimated costs, and qualifications from qualified landscape maintenance contractors were requested. The final scope and frequency of services to be performed at each location would not be determined until after contractor selection and holding of the pre-work meeting. The scope would be based on the recommendations of the Contractor, City Budget, and current site conditions.

Based on an evaluation of the unit rates and qualifications received on April 2, 2018, City staff selected Cardno, Inc. to provide the Native Plantings Landscaping Maintenance. Following the pre-work meeting held on April 26, 2018 and a subsequent evaluation...
