A Resolution appointing John Savage and Kevin Fitzpatrick and reappointing Jonathan Hylton to the Aurora Civic Center Authority Board.
DISCUSSION:
The Aurora Civic Center Authority is a nine (9) member board tasked with overseeing the historic Paramount Theatre, Copley Theatre and RiverEdge Park. There are currently expired terms.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the City Council approve the appointments of John Savage and Kevin Fitzpatrick and the reappointment of Jonathan Hylton to the Aurora Civic Center Authority Board.

A Resolution Appointing John Savage and Kevin Fitzpatrick and reappointing Jonathan Hylton to the Aurora Civic Center Authority Board.

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, it is the Mayor's desire that said candidates be appointed and reappointed to said board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Aurora, Illinois, hereby approve the appointments of John Savage, Aurora, IL and Kevin Fitzpatrick, Sugar Grove, IL and reappointment of Jonathan Hylton, Aurora, IL as members of the Aurora Civic Center Authority.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the terms of John Savage, Kevin Fitzpatrick and Jonathan Hylton shall expire September 30, 2018, however, in any event they shall continue to serve until their respective replacements have been approved by the Council.
