PURPOSE:
To raise educational funds for students.
BACKGROUND:
In previous years, Brooks Elementary School hosted the Nik Kot Trot and Granger Middle School hosted the Grizzly Gallop in the Stonebridge neighborhood of Aurora. Both of these run walk fundraisers are no longer held and the Roaring 5K was somewhat initiated to fill the void. 2016 was the first year of the Roaring 5K and 400 people participated in the event.
DISCUSSION:
The event organizers are expecting 600 people to participate and 100 staff/volunteers to help at this year. Granger Middle School is responsible for all costs associated with this proposed event.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
City services will be needed from the Aurora Police Department Traffic Control Division.
