TO: Mayor John Laesch
FROM: Christopher Linville, Superintendent of Fleet Operations
DATE: May, 25 2025
SUBJECT:
A Resolution authorizing the purchase of a Hunter alignment machine from Mohawk Lifts LLC for $67,588.25.
PURPOSE:
To ensure that the Fleet Maintenance Division has adequate equipment to perform their duties.
BACKGROUND:
The Fleet Maintenance Division currently utilizes outside vendors for all vehicle alignments. The purchase of an alignment machine will allow the division to keep these repairs in-house, reducing equipment downtime, eliminating the unnecessary waste of valuable labor hours associated with transporting vehicles, and improving operational efficiency.
DISCUSSION:
The City of Aurora participates in the Sourcewell Cooperative Program for the purchases of new and replacement equipment. This program provides government pricing for purchases allowing the city to satisfy our own bidding process with less effort and using greater purchasing power to get lower prices.
Mohawk Lifts LLC, located in Amsterdam, NY, has been awarded Sourcewell contract # 121223-MRL for vehicle lifts and garage associated equipment.
The proposed alignment machine is part of an approved 2025 decision package.
Funding to satisfy the cost of the proposed alignment machine at a cost of $67,588.25 will be drawn from Account 120-4431-418.63-99.
Mohawk Lifts LLC has no outstanding debt with the city.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
N/A
RECOMMENDATIONS:
That the City Council adopts a resolution to purchase a Hunter alignment machine for the Fleet Maintenance Division.
