SUBJECT:title
A Traffic Study for the intersection of Bromley Lane and Sheffer Road. Ward 10, Alderman Johnson
body
PURPOSE:
Review pedestrian markings and signage for the intersection of Bromley Lane and Sheffer Road.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted ACR Case ID 108989 requesting a marked Pedestrian Crosswalk the intersection of Bromley Lane and Sheffer Road. The Crosswalk would run from the southeast corner northwards.
DISCUSSION:
This intersection is at the 90-degree junction of two city roadways: Bromley Lane approaching from the south; and Sheffer Road approaching from the west. A parking lot with a private roadway is to the north, and a private roadway approaches from the east. Three STOP signs are installed at the intersection, with the approach of Sheffer Road from the west being the only approach without STOP signage. The south east corner has a sidewalk with depressed curb and access to the intersection, but there is no sidewalk on the northeast corner to connect to.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No impact based on recommendation
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends denial based on the lack of pedestrian facilities and connectivity to private property.
