SUBJECT:title
A Parking Study for the 900 Block of Southbridge Drive. Ward 6, Alderman Saville
body
PURPOSE:
Review street parking regulations for the 900 block of Southbridge Drive.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted ACR Case ID 112740 requesting a review of parking regulations at the intersection where the southern leg of Southbridge Drive intersects N. Elmwood Drive. While making a turn off N. Elmwood Drive onto Southbridge Drive, the Resident on a motorcycle complains that Southbridge Drive is too narrow because of vehicles parked on both sides of Southbridge Drive.
DISCUSSION:
Southbridge Drive has the city normal width of 29.5-ft. The intersection has no STOP signage or Yellow Curb, or parking restrictions.
This has been the only request we have had for parking restrictions on Southbridge. The current request came from a resident on an adjacent street that has no parking restrictions.
At this time staff does not support restricting parking on Southbridge. This would be reconsidered if residents of Southbridge would bring the request forward with general support.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No action recommended.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends denial.
