A Traffic Study for Central Avenue from Kenilworth Place to Southlawn Place. Ward 5, Alderman Franco.
body
PURPOSE:
A Traffic Study for Central Avenue from Kenilworth Place to Southlawn Place to determine the warrants for STOP signage.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted ACR Case IDs 142685 &142688 expressing concern about the lack of STOP or YIELD signage at two intersections along Central Avenue ( Kenilworth Place and Southlawn Place ).
DISCUSSION:
In addition to the two intersection mentioned above, there are a total of 10 intersections in the immediate area without STOP or YIELD signage. Staff suggests that two-way STOPS be installed on Central Avenue at the Kenilworth Place and the Southlawn Place intersections, with Central having the right-of-way through both intersections.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations would be responsible for the installation of Stop signage.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff suggests that two-way STOPS be installed on Central Avenue at the Kenilworth Place and the Southlawn Place intersections with Cross Traffic does not Stop placards.
