SUBJECT:title

A Parking Study for Longmeadow Drive approaching Ogden Avenue from the south.  Ward 10, Alderman Lofchie.

body

PURPOSE:

A Parking Study for Longmeadow Drive approaching Ogden Avenue from the south to determine the need for increased parking regulations.

BACKGROUND:

A resident submitted PS # 2774378 expressing concern that vehicles may be parking too close to Ogden Road on the southern approach to Ogden Avenue.

DISCUSSION:

Longmeadow Drive is a 25 mph residential roadway which intersects the 45 mph arterial roadway of Ogden Avenue.  Parking on Longmeadow Drive is in short supply, with both side of this 37-ft wide roadway fully occupied with parked cars (overnight truck parking is prohibited).

IMPACT STATEMENT:

Operations would be responsible for installation of signage.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

Staff recommends installation of "NO PARKING HERE TO CORNER" signage on both sides of Longmeadow Drive approximately 60 feet from Ogden Avenue.
