Aurora Noon Lions Club Lions in the Park 5K Walk/Run, Sunday May 18, 2014, 9:00am to 11:00am.

PURPOSE:
The Aurora Noon Lions Club is requesting permission to hold a 5K Walk/Run at Phillips Park to raise funds needed to provide children with eye care needs.
BACKGROUND:
In 2013, the event had 45 participants. This is the second year for the proposed event and the organizers are expecting 100 participants and 15 volunteers.
DISCUSSION:
The organizers are responsible for all costs associated with holding this proposed event.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
The organizers are requesting use of parts of the trails and roads at Phillips Park and some of the surrounding streets, and are proposing that traffic/safety issues be handled by volunteer Aurora Police and Fire Department personnel. The organizers have been informed that in addition to the Certificate of Insurance they have submitted, they will need to submit to the City Risk Management, copies of signed waivers by participants that include the City.

Please forward to the Government Operations Committee for review and approval.
