A Traffic Study for Parking standards in front of 512-514 S. River Street. Ward 4; Alderman Donnell

PURPOSE:
To clarify Parking policy in front of 512-514 S. River Street.
BACKGROUND:
A resident called the City to question the parking signage in front of 51-514 S. River Street.
DISCUSSION:
A resident of many years was recently ticket near his home. Both the resident and the existing signage have been at location for several year. There is one Parking regulation sign on their side of the roadway (Westerly) at 526 S. River Street stating "NO PARKING 11:00PM - 7:00AM END". The next parking regulation sign is just before the intersection of S. River Street and Prairie Street, saying "NO PARKING THIS SIDE". The parking regulations between the two signs are not clearly defined as either no overnight parking or no parking at all.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations Department will be required to install new signage.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Replace " NO PARKING 11:00PM - 7:00AM END " with standard 'no parking 2AM-5AM' signage. Replace NO PARKING THIS SIDE sign with NO PARKING THIS SIDE with a north pointing arrow
