A Resolution Authorizing Execution of Memorandum of Agreement between the City of Aurora and the Aurora Supervisor's Association

PURPOSE:
To obtain authorization to execute a Memorandum of Agreement between the City of Aurora and the Aurora Supervisor's Association comprised of supervisory level employees of the City of Aurora Parks and Recreation, Public Property, M.V.P.S., Water and Sewer, Water Production and the Public Works Departments, including salary, benefits and obligations.

BACKGROUND:
This agreement replaces the expired agreement from April 2008 -March 2012

DISCUSSION:
Upon the completion of the tentative agreement, the Supervisor's Association has ratified the agreement. A summary of changes is attached hereto. Wages agreed upon for the term of this agreement are 2% for years 2012 through 2016. Insurance contributions for active employees have been changed from percentage of wages to percentage of premium for both HMO and PPO coverage. In addition, the Association agreed to function as a stand-alone group severing all ties to AFSCME 1514.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
That the City Council authorize the execution of a Memorandum of Agreement between the City of Aurora and the Aurora Supervisor's Association for the period of April 1, 2012 through March 31, 2016.
